GOOD TO KNOW

How we choose gift ideas

Start with the social context

A good gift for a coworker may be wrong for a significant other, and a good boss gift may be inappropriate for an employee. We use relationship context to filter out choices that are too personal, too intimate, too expensive, or simply awkward for the situation.

Explain the fit

Each recommendation is built around a use case: a daily routine, a known interest, a small problem, a shared activity, or a flexible fallback. The “why” is meant to help you decide, not to pressure you into clicking.

Show the tradeoff

Every physical item has a possible mismatch. We call out compatibility, size, scent, ingredients, installation, storage, skill level, or personal taste when that could change the decision. If you cannot identify a meaningful fit or tradeoff, the item is not strong enough for an editorial recommendation.

Treat price as a moving reference

Retail prices change by seller, variant, pack size, promotion, and availability. Our price bands are approximate planning guidance. They are not a promise that a product will remain within a budget at checkout.

Keep the retailer in control of the final details

The retailer controls the listing, stock, shipping estimate, payment process, returns, and customer service. We link shoppers to the relevant destination and tell them what to verify before purchasing.

Refresh and correct

Catalog details can become stale. We use verification dates where available and welcome correction information about mismatched product images, links, categories, or price guidance. The retailer listing remains the final source for purchase details.
